Calm Dry Spell Continues

The SEARK enjoyed another beautiful spring day, with high temps in the low 80's, quite a bit above normal.

A large sprawling high pressure system anchored over the Southeastern U S is responsible for the almost summer-like weather.

More of the same is expected for the rest of the week.

The high is expected to weaken by the weekend and allow the return of Gulf moisture with more humid conditions.

Long-range models show a vigorous storm system approaching the state by mid to late next week, and possible severe weather-something we haven't seen that much of thus far this month.
