The SEARK has been blessed with ideal spring weather this past week, with high temperatures in the 80's and lows in the mid to upper 50's.
Clouds will be on the increase today as a cold front moves into the region later today into tonight.
Even though we will see a frontal passage, moisture is limited and rain chances will be relatively low. Clouds may be slow in clearing this weekend, keeping temperatures on the cool side ( actually closer to norms).
Quiet weather returns for most of next week until a storm system approaches late in the time period.
It is still surprising to realize just how closed, the Gulf of Mexico has been this spring( we are talking about return moisture flow, source of instability, etc). Severe weather has been negligible to date and it appears it will remain that way for a while. Blame it on El Nino!
It will be interesting to see what effect, if any, the Iceland volcano eruption will have on the global weather pattern. Stay tuned!
