Thunderstorms Likely Tonight; Some Severe

The SEARK is surrounded by Tornado Watches to our south and west.  We have had very little daytime heating here but, areas to our west and south have had more.  Even though the air may not seem very unstable, there is enough wind energy in the upper levels with this system to warrant some concern.  It will be interesting to see if the "Watches" are extended into our area, after they expire at 10:00 PM. Right now it looks as though they probably will be.

As this system intensifies tonight over the Red River Valley, the Storm Prediction Center is concerned about the possibility of tornadoes as far north as southern AR and northern MS.  Also, large hail and heavy rain will be possible tonight . Two  inch (+) totals will be common further to our south and east.

Please stay tuned to your local weather or NOAA weather radio tonight.
