January Thaw Continues This Week; Possible Storms?

Light to moderate rain, mild temperatures and breezy conditions persisted overnight, as the first, of several storm systems that will affect the SEARK this week, moved through the area.

These storms will be riding the moist, Pacific, upper-level air flow currently over the lower 48, largely attributed to El Nino.

Above, to well-above normal temperatures are expected next week. Of course, any time you have warm temps and moisture-rich Pacific systems with trailing cold fronts approaching the SEARK, you have most of the ingredients available to produce severe weather. Depending on the exact track and timing, the possibility exist, Wednesday but more likely next weekend.

Until then, enjoy the times of sun and mild temperatures-a very nice January thaw!
