A storm system out over the Central Plains this morning is expected to move northeast and drag a cold front across the state over the next 18-24 hours. Out ahead the front, a squall line is expected to develop and move into the state by late afternoon, bringing with it chances of severe weather.
Although severe chances are low, there is the possibility of damaging winds, hail and slight potential for tornadoes as the system moves through the state, especially in Western Arkansas. By the time the squall line moves into the SEARK and with the loss of daytime heating, it will have lost some of its energy. If the front moves in earlier that could change.
Be sure to stay abreast of the latest weather information today and tonight as this weather event unfolds.
