After a beautiful week of fall weather(compared to what we had been experiencing), the skies again have lowered and are producing light to moderate rain this morning. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for today with the possibility of 2 to 3 inches of rain possible. There is even a slight risk of severe storms for the SE corner of the state this afternoon as the front moves into that area, according to the NWS:
" A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER EXISTS ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE STATE. INCREASED MOISTURE WILL INTERACT WITH THE SYSTEM...ALLOWING FOR SOME INSTABILITY OUT AHEAD OF THE FRONT.SEVERE STORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE ALONG AND AHEAD OF THE FRONT...WITH DAMAGING WINDS AS THE MAIN CONCERN. ALSO...AN ISOLATED TORNADO CANNOT BE RULED OUT."
So, heads-up for those in the extreme SE sections of the area and everyone be prepared to break out your waders ! Some of us probably need to wear them to work!
Beautiful weather will return to the SEARK again this weekend.
