After a relatively rain free morning, scattered thunderstorms erupted this afternoon over the SEARK. That was just a prelude to what is expected the rest of this week.
Light rain began falling this evening and is expected to continue most of the night. Some heavy rainfall is not out of the question-especially starting tomorrow and sporadically thru the rest of the week. Although severe weather is not expected, a heavy thunderstorm or two cannot be ruled out.
Several upper level systems will be meandering thru the Seark this week. As these systems interact with the abundant amounts of gulf moisture streaming north from the Gulf, numerous showers and thunderstorms will break out along with some heavy rain possible over the south half of the Natural State.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect.
