“UnSeTtLeD” Opens Today-Check Your Extended Forecast for Dates and Times

It begins out West as a whisper, traverses across the Rockies, then it digs into the plains where it picks up steam-in the form of higher dew points, warmer temps and loads of instability.  From there, it violently explodes out across the Mississippi Valley.

After a sneak preview last week ,“Unsettled” starring hail, high winds and the much anticipated rainfall will begin later today and will make itself known at times, the next several days.  Also making cameo appearances at times, glimpses of the villain twister, could show it’s ugly face, especially early next week……

Okay, I hope you get the picture-not the picture “Unsettled”, but the big picture.  The Mid south will be in a very active pattern for next week or so, starring multiple chances of rain (which we need) and also opportunities for severe weather (which we tolerate to get the rain).

As has been the case most of the spring, the severe stuff in the short term arrives in  the SEARK under the cover of night, or early in the morning.

The front moves into the area but will meander back to the north as a warm front, as high pressure builds in the Gulf.  This “scene” will repeat itself numerous times the next few days.

What I am watching in my viewfinder is the episode that could unfold early next week…..stay tuned!!!!!

In all seriousness folks, today is when you need to check and replace your old batteries in your weather radio with fresh ones.  Make sure it is programmed correctly, most of all, make certain you have it placed where it will wake you if needed.  Or just invest in one of the “weather call” apps available to you.
