Storms-Maybe, Rain-Hopefully, Cooler-Definitely!

Temperatures fell off quickly last night with the passing of the cold front on Wednesday.  Highs on Thursday were in the mid 60’s, nearly 20 degrees cooler than yesterday .  Lows are expected to fall into the lower 40’s by sunrise Friday, causing some concern for those with green thumbs.

A storm system will meander it’s way toward the Natural State Friday, and bring with it a decent chance of showers and thunderstorms this weekend.  Depending on the time of arrival and available instability, some storms could reach severe levels. A slight risk of severe storms  is in the forecast for Friday and Saturday.  It’s not an ideal setup for severe weather, but the possibilities exist.

Once the system exits the area, much cooler air will infiltrate the mid south.  Most of the country will be in an unsettled weather pattern for the next week or two, as winter makes a curtain call and refuses to leave the stage!
